2010 Change for Charity Recipients
Friendship Circle (March/April) – The Friendship Circle envisions a world in which people with special needs and their families experience acceptance, inclusion, and friendship as contributing members of society. To make this a reality, our volunteer corps serve children and adults with special needs by involving them in a rich array of social programs and friendships, providing a sense of belonging and self-worth. In addition to the direct benefits to these individuals, their family members benefit from the respite and support the Friendship Circle provides, while the teen volunteers discover their own youthful compassion and idealism, in effect cultivating a new generation of communal leaders.
